Casting Call for

"Hydra"

Tyler Hisel and Whit Bussey are currently casting for the Explosium Films short film “Hydra”. Directed by Whit Bussey. Written and shot (DP’d) by Tyler Hisel

Logline- When Tom Byers learns of a global government conspiracy through an internet hacker, he must do all he can to prevent the murder of countless numbers worldwide while escaping the trained gunmen that pursue he and his family.

Filming will begin in October, with an estimated 6 days of principal photography. (No single role must be present every day) Production will take place in Fayette and Jessamine Counties.

The film is pending approval for a SAG Indie short film contract. Both Union and Non-union actors are welcome. Union payment is deferred. Non-union is not paid unless otherwise negotiated. However, non-union actors can earn SAG eligibility through involvement.

Open casting is issued for all the following roles:

TOM- (lead) male, ~30- young married professional, has worked hard to earn the success he’s gained

NOAH- (lead) male, ~25- recovering drug addict, computer hacker, Tom’s brother

CHERYL- (lead) female, ~27- attractive and compassionate working woman, Tom’s wife

NANCY- (lead) female, ~30- unmarried woman. More dedicated to her job than anything else.

COMPUTER TECHNICIAN- male­­- monitors network security for international agency

The roles of GUNMAN 1-3 represent individuals from across the globe, as such, the roles would benefit from actors with differing ethnic appearances. This is not a must.

GUNMAN 1- (lead) male, 25+  large professional assassin. Cold and calloused.

GUNMAN 2- male, 25+ large professional assassin.

GUNMAN 3- male, 25+ large, strong, and forceful, professional assassin.

GRAHAM- male, ~30- young, lively professional. Quick witted friend of Tom’s

STEPH- female, ~27- quick witted wife of Graham. Friend of Cheryl’s

MAINTENACE MAN- male, 30+, Latino/Asia -maintenance worker in apartment building. Latino or Asia preferred, as the character does not know English
